The Role
Reporting to the Vice President, the Director, People and Talent will be responsible for developing and executing a forward-thinking people strategy that enables the organization’s mission and values. This leader will serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team, fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture and ensuring the foundation attracts, develops, and retains exceptional talent.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive people and culture strategy aligned with organizational goals and values.
- Strengthen recruitment, onboarding, and leadership development programs that attract diverse and mission-aligned talent.
- Build and maintain a culture rooted in equity, inclusion, collaboration, and respect.
- Oversee performance management, total rewards, and employee engagement programs that support both individual and organizational growth.
- Partner with senior leadership to ensure workforce planning aligns with strategic priorities.
- Serve as a coach and advisor to managers and leaders, supporting organizational effectiveness and team development.
- Lead initiatives that enhance employee experience, retention, and professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and best practices in human resources.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of progressive experience in human resources or people operations, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong background in organizational development, talent strategy, and culture transformation.
- Demonstrated success building inclusive, values-based workplaces.
- Experience in the non-profit or public sector is an asset, but not required.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into practical programs and outcomes.
- Deep commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
